Neuromodulation Service

The Neuromodulation Service provides Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), a new technique for treating Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) by stimulating the brain non-invasively through the scalp and skull.

Referrals are accepted for MDD from Psychiatrists or General Practitioners. Specialist referrals are required for Auditory Verbal Hallucinations (AVH) and Schizophrenia. Treatment consists of several sessions of half hour duration.

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is accepted by Consultant authorisation.
