Public Health

Public Health and Clinical Excellence (PHCE) Public Health provides diverse services to protect, promote and improve the health of whole populations, with a focus on the prevention of disease and the promotion of good health.

Services and programs are delivered in an individual’s home or community centres and clinical settings, in collaboration with hospital and community-based sectors.

Public health addresses the health of whole populations, rather than the individual. The primary focus is on prevention of disease or promotion of good health. Public health also focuses on system-level design of services, policies and programs affecting the health and well-being of the population. The typical domains of public health include: communicable disease control, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health promotion, health equity for disadvantaged populations and health policy.

PHCE Public Health Services were awarded accreditation against the National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Health (NSQPCH) Standards Accreditation Program for 3 years. Accreditation is valid until the 8 November 2026.
