Strategy and Transformation at NMHS
The recently established Strategy and Transformation (S&T) Directorate at North Metropolitan Health Service brings together five important core business units to guide our strategic direction and support services and staff, including: Strategy, Clinical Planning, Innovation and Development, Aboriginal Health and the Hospital Emergency Access Response Team (HEART).
Responsible for driving transformation, the S&T Directorate will ensure we continually and proactively evolve within the ever-changing health care landscape.
Executive Director Strategy and Transformation Ian Sheldrake said the team was focused on adding value to clinical services across North Metropolitan Health Service.
“Our whole focus is on ensuring we identify opportunities to enhance the high-quality care we provide to patients and the broader community,” he said.
“As well as supporting the ongoing development of clinical services, we know that harnessing the ideas, passion and commitment of our staff will continue strengthen our position as a leader in contemporary health care."
The five business units within S&T focus on the following:
Strategy – Developing and initiating strategies that will achieve the medium to long term vision of NMHS; including coordinating our approach to improving our environmental sustainability.
Clinical Planning - Leading expertise in evidence informed clinical service planning; and facilitating the delivery of strategic clinical service reform programs that will enable our sites and services to continue to deliver excellent clinical services into the future.
Innovation and Development - Supporting our staff to generate and translate their ideas into genuine change that underpins exceptional care and patient outcomes.
Aboriginal Health – Coordinating and in some cases leading programs and projects targeted at improving cultural security and better patient outcomes for our Aboriginal patients.
HEART – Working with our front-line staff to facilitate, sustain and measure improvements in patient flow across all of our sites.
