Eldhose Baby, Nurse Manager at the SCGH Mental Health Unit (MHU) has been recognised as the MHPHDS Employee of the Season of Makuru, the wettest Season when the Noongar people move inland for more sheltered locations and gather around campfires for music and dreamtime storytelling.

Eldhose was nominated by his colleagues for being a dynamic and supportive leader during the Covid-19 pandemic. He was instrumental in setting up the MHU’s Covid red zone, working with staff to ensure the successful management of Covid positive patients in an acute mental health setting, including patients from forensic and older adult settings.

Dr Gosia Wojnarowska presented Eldhose with his award and said he deserved to be congratulated for being an innovative and inspirational team member.

“Eldhose embraces the team culture, while looking for ways to bring efficiencies to the role without impacting staff wellbeing or patient care,” she said.

Eldhose was awarded a certificate and voucher and enjoyed cupcakes with his team members courtesy of sponsor Paywise.
