Celebrating our dedicated staff!
Congratulations to our Employee of Djeran!
Congratulations to clinical nurse specialist Elaine - our 'Djeran' winner of the NMHS Mental Health, Public Health, Dental Services Employee of the Season!
Elaine forms part of the senior nursing team at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital mental health service. You may remember Elaine's colleague Priscilla won the Employee of Bunuru (last season's award). Two wins in a row for SCGH mental health unit is a testament to the integrity and strength of our mental health nurses.
Elaine is a natural leader, teacher and mentor to staff, students and graduates and believes in staff doing their best despite what can be, sometimes challenging situations. She is passionate about great patient care and is always looking for new and innovative ways to improve patient experience within our service.
Other qualities mentioned in the nomination were that Elaine is: respectful, enthusiastic, caring (to patients and to her colleagues), knowledgeable, proactive, a good communicator, has a great work ethic and that she thinks ahead (takes steps to minimise impact of problems/issues for staff working on oncoming shifts).
On 31 May 2021 at a morning tea held at Sir Charles Gairdner's Mental Health Unit, MH Inpatient A/CoDirector Maggie O'Dea delivered a speech and our award sponsors presented Elaine with her prizes - a certificate, Employee of the Season badge and $150 voucher.
A special thanks to our generous sponsors: HESTA, Paywise, Smartsalary and Aware Super.
If you've had a great experience with one of our staff members why not put them forward for an award? Next time you are onsite ask how you can submit a nomination.
