The Cancer Network WA (CNWA) celebrated its 20th anniversary of delivering statewide cancer services with more than 250 attendees at its annual Cancer Network Forum on 14 May 2026.

The forum, now in its third year, centred around the theme: ‘Inspiring the Future of Excellence in Cancer Care’, with topics covering international, national, state, and local perspectives.

Attendees heard from more than 35 cancer experts through the day and had the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the CNWA milestone.

CNWA Service Director Kylie Oliver said forum presented a fantastic opportunity for like-minded people to share insights, foster collaboration and showcase what is new across cancer.

“I want to thank all the speakers for sharing their time and knowledge to help make the forum our biggest one yet,” she said.

Kylie said feedback from attendees had been overwhelmingly positive, with the quality and the diversity of speakers, the panel discussions and learning about new cancer services such as the introduction of WA’s first Bronchoscopy program highlights.

“We also took the opportunity to celebrate our 20th birthday and recognise the staff who have helped shape the service over its history," Kylie said.

“From small beginnings, the CNWA has grown dramatically over the years, going from a small unit to now being a state-wide service."

The CNWA assists patients at many points along the cancer pathway – screening to prevent cancer; care coordination throughout their cancer journey; Youth Cancer services for people with cancer aged 15 to 25 years and WA Psycho Oncology Support (WAPOS) to support the best care options.

Other focuses include working with a range of stakeholders to implement statewide cancer plans, optimal care pathways and the development, management and monitoring of cancer contracts.
