The Centre for Clinical Interventions (CCI) staff celebrated the 20th anniversary of the service with an afternoon tea on Tuesday, November 29.

Staff and stakeholders gathered to enjoy cupcakes and hear about the CCI's significant achievements over the past 20 years.

The specialised clinical psychology services was established to treat patients with complex anxiety and eating disorders. The CCI's core areas of business are psychological therapy, evaluation and research, training and resources.

Co-director of Mental Health Specialisties, Rachel Zombor, said the CCI was world-renowned and punched above its weight in terms of service delivery.

Director and Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Dr Bruce Campbell, said the CCI has become a significant mental health resource for clinicians, consumers and carers around the world.

Fun facts:

  • More than 250 CCI research papers have been published in peer-reviewed journals
  • CCI papers have been cited more than 17,000 times
  • The CCI website has had more than 10 million downloads

Bruce said the CCI's current projects include a group program for people with eating disorders and improving access to treatment for people with severe anxiety.

Future plans include helping patients with PTSD, OCD and BED.

The services and treatment programs offered by the CCI are available to the public with a referral from a GP. Further information is available on the Centre for Clinical Interventions (CCI) website (external site).
