Congratulations to NMHS Development Senior Project Officer Thomas Cianflone on being named NMHS Corporate Employee of the Quarter!

Thomas has always shown outstanding dedication to delivering high quality capital works but this was even more evident during the past quarter when he was required to deliver projects relating directly to the COVID-19 response. Thomas maintained a calm and customer-focused attitude despite significant time pressures and increased workload including the expedited delivery of works in D Block as well as the new ED Fast-Track area.

Thomas also has a large portfolio of other projects in the planning and delivery phases, for which he has demonstrated excellent customer service under time pressure.  He has worked closely with the Mental Health team involved with the fit-out of a new clinic in Butler, ensuring the new facility and furnishings are fit-for-purpose from a staff safety perspective as well as being a welcoming and calming environment for clients.

Thomas is project managing the refurbishment of two Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and two Interventional Radiology Rooms within SCGH which has required close liaison with numerous clinical service teams to ensure the needs of multiple users are met. This project is highly technical, requiring the resolution of multiple competing issues and interests in order to achieve a successful outcome within a confined budget.

Thomas is also project managing the Critical Infrastructure Upgrades at KEMH and had oversight of the recently completed facade replacement on B Block.

Recent feedback received from the Mental Health team working on the Butler Community Mental Health Service fit-out noted that "special mention needs to go to Thomas Cianflone who has been so supportive through this process - his professionalism and attention to detail has kept this build on course and it has been a pleasure to work with him".
