Diagnosis

Diagnosing a gynaecologic cancer may take time and require several investigations and procedures before a diagnosis is confirmed.

These may include:

  • Blood tests
  • Imaging (e.g. Ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET scan)
  • Tissue Biopsy or Fluid Sample
  • Staging Surgery

Treatment

Following a diagnosis, your treating team will develop a treatment plan. Treatment will depend on the type and stage of the cancer and may include surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy or radiation therapy. Treatments may be alone or in combination and may involve seeing several specialists in a variety of settings.
