Our Child Safeguarding Statement of Commitment

North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) prioritises the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people accessing our services, regardless of background, ability, or identity. We are dedicated to being a child safe organisation where children feel secure, respected, and valued.

Guided by the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (external site), we are committed to fostering a culture of safety and prioritising the best interests of children and young people.

We will do this by:

  • Actively listening to children and upholding their rights.
  • Equipping our staff and volunteers with the knowledge and responsibility to safeguard children.
  • Embedding child safety into our policies, procedures, and day-to-day practice.
  • Responding promptly to concerns and continuously improving our child-safe environments.

At NMHS, everyone has a responsibility to ensure our services are safe and supportive for all children and young people.
